Meet the family who chases Winter. The family who leaves a promising New England April in search of MORE ICE. Whose heat tolerance tops out around 75 degrees. This was actually the best weather in Iceland we have ever experienced ... (out of two visits to date.) We revisited some favorite spots – including hopping right off the plane and into the nearby Blue Lagoon – and discovered some new ones. We touched the new Earth of the recently-active Fagradalsfjall volcano, and spelunked through a 5,000-year-old lave tube. We loaded up on European goodies (one of the great joys in life is shopping foreign grocery stores.) We spent hours listening to Icelandic radio DJ's, and oddly never grew annoyed. And we made pictures! The best part. Our souvenirs. Lots of them. Joe and I actually can't wait for more of Iceland, and feel a calm connection here. Next time – The North!
